Healing your Attachment Wounds by Boadi Moore is an interesting book that imparts excellent information on human psychological concept of attachment and the wounds related to it as well the healing process. A perfect book with facts, theories and research-backed statements.

The first half of the book introduces us to the basic human psychology of attachment and the attachment wounds. The second half of the book discusses about the healing process, the various therapies involved and related theories. The most interesting and practical thing is the inclusion of 'My story' section wherein Boadi shares her own story of psychological trauma related to her attachment wounds. This helps the readers gain an in-depth exposure to understand the psychological concepts with ease.

Boadi has beautifully narrated the most untouched topic of 'attachment' and 'healing the attachment wounds' backed with some evidence-based psychological research studies and data. Human psychology is a complex thing to explore, however the author's effort to break it down into subheadings and distinct concepts, which helps the readers to learn more about it. Even I have studied psychology during my nursing graduation course, and I know how this knowledge helped us identify the patient's behaviour, personality and other related parameters.

Being a nurse, human psychology definitely intrigues me a lot. And I just loved the way Boadi gives this book a real-time touch by sharing events from her own life story. It takes courage to do that. I appreciate this sincere approach directed toward helping people identify their attachment style and attachment disorders, if any.

As mentioned in the book, the first and foremost attachment is between a mother and a baby, which we call a mother-baby bond, and it is this phase that lays the foundation of a child's personality when they grow up as an adult. The book offers a great deal of knowledge on psychological concepts encompassing attachment and wounds of attachment. With simple yet descriptive narrative, Boadi shares some lesser known facts about our attachment wounds. She beautifully explains everything about types of wounds, their disorders, and how to heal them.

The book enlists some therapies and techniques used in healing the attachment wounds, in the other half of the book. The author talks about several mindfulness practices like yoga, meditation, exercise, music healing, etc. These therapies and techniques actually help people come out of the emotional trauma that they hold onto due to some dysfunctional attachment styles.

I loved the way the author personified 'the azure blue ocean' as her best friend. I think we need to understand how nature is the best healer, and how it holds all our answers embedded somewhere mystically, which are exposed only when we get in touch with our mother nature. Forgiveness and non-judgemental attitude also play a crucial role in healing our attachment wounds.

The book has been flawlessly and professionally edited. I loved the titles of the chapters, the headings and the overall content formatting. It helps the readers to read the book smoothly. The book is highly practical and offers profound knowledge of psychology.

I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is because I find this book very useful and interesting. I highly recommend it to all.
