Review of I'm Here for the Bath
I'm Here for the Bath by P.E. Rolita is a captivating collection of stories centered around Peter, a hospice aide, as he goes about providing end-of-life care. I enjoyed this book. First of all, I thought Peter's use of humor in the stories was great. The subject is a dreadful one because it is about assisting people who are near death and guiding their families during their final moments so that there are no mishaps and the patients are cared for until their last breaths. I was amazed by how well Peter handled all of his patients, even the difficult ones. He went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the patients' comfort. The book has taught me the value of hospice care and its part in making sure patients and their families are at ease and able to cherish their final moments together. I also learned a lot of life's valuable lessons from these short stories, such as how, in the end, most people cared about their loved ones and were content with the lives they had led. I was also struck by how at ease these patients were, and I admired their bravery. They had accepted the fact that they were dying and chose to spend as much time as possible with their loved ones and say their final goodbyes. The stories were so beautiful and endearing.
There's no negative aspect I found with the book. I enjoyed all of the stories and could feel Peter's compassion for his patients and their families. I rate the book five out of five stars. I couldn't find a single grammatical mistake, and it was well-edited. I recommend this book to anyone who works as a hospice aide or is considering becoming one. Additionally, I would suggest this book to someone whose loved one has a terminal illness.
