Review of Play Golf Better Faster: From Weekend Golfer to Pro Golfer in Two Years
Before coming across this book, the most I'd ever heard about golf was from the Formula 1 driver, Lando Norris. Seems completely unrelated, but that's my favourite sport, so I pay attention to the drivers' interests. After hearing Lando speak about golf with such passion, I thought it might be worth it to try learn a thing or two about the sport.
I always viewed golf as an easy pastime, thinking it required little to no effort. I was rather surprised to learn the amount of skill it actually requires. I was especially intrigued after learning there is a vast number of very successful golfers from South Africa, which just so happens to be where I am from. In my time learning about this complex sport, I found Play Golf Better Faster: From Weekend to Pro Golfer in Two Years by Kalliope Barlis to be a source of great knowledge!
I think this book was fantastically authored. The author was exceptionally clear when explaining her intentions, and I believe she did a marvellous job of conveying her passion and knowledge to the audience. This is the second book I have read from this author, and from my experience, Barlis demonstrates a special talent for writing and teaching.
During my time reading this book, I could think of absolutely nothing negative to say about it. The author's writing was clear and easy to understand, there were some very helpful diagrams included in the book to further explain her points, and the book was fantastically edited, as I found no errors whatsoever. As a result of the myriad of reasons mentioned above, I happily rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
I would recommend this book to those curious about the elite sport that is golf. As previously mentioned, there is an ample amount of information on how to better your skills, and if you're like me, you can grasp the basics of the game. I believe this book would be enjoyed by many!
