It's nice that the author shared some personal experiences here. I don't believe in spirits, so this one isn't for me. This does sound like a helpful and comprehensive guide to those who do believe and would like to communicate with spirits. Too bad about the editing issues and repetitiveness, but I'm glad that you enjoyed it regardless!

I love all paranormal things and this book looks interesting with supernatural creatures.

Don't so much of a great concern for spirits even though I believe in them.
But I know my post will help as a good review for others who are fascinated by this topic
I have started reading and certainly Chapter 1 is the longest chapter but still I give the book 3 out 4.
It is quite interesting and I think I have to revisit my likes and adjust.
Two more books on this topic and "I AM IN"  :techie-reference:

I'm glad the author recommends skepticism for nonfiction communicating with spirits. But it certainly fits the season! Great review!

I really like reading books on this subject, so I'll give this one a try. It's always interesting to read different theories on the afterlife and communication with those that have passed on. Thanks for the review.

This is an absolute must read for me. My immediate family and extended family have all experienced life from the other side. We are not scared in any way as you are reconnecting with family that have passed. Going straight on my reading right now list!

"How to Talk With Spirits" is a nonfiction guide for exactly what it sounds like - communicating with spirits. Spirits here typically include both spirits and ghosts (the difference, June summarizes, is essentially that ghosts are spirits that remain on Earth), but also includes the possibility of picking up messages or signals from others who are alive. The pages are filled to the brim with information equivalent to similar books double the length. Despite having so much information, the book doesn't ever feel boring - this is an insightful guide, not a dry textbook. :techie-reference:

The author quotes Carl Jung who, in a 1919 speech said, “I shall not commit the fashionable stupidity of regarding everything I cannot explain as a fraud.” A sentiment to which I heartily agree. Unfortunately, there are many that claim the ability of mediumship but very few are genuine. Ms. Ahern appears to be one of the genuine ones. Thanks for the review and also to the author for providing the free book. I look forwarding to continue reading it.

I did an official review for this book too and I definitely thought it was very interesting, even though I'm not sure I believe in spirits. Congrats to the author on book of the day.

Sounds like an interesting book. A subject that you don't find a lot of information on.

I find this subject fascinating. It sounds like the author really knows her stuff, and is not a charlatan, like so many people in this field are. I can't wait to read it. Thanks for the great review.

Though not something that I really believe in, it does sound interesting. And while the idea of connecting with spirits sounds exciting, it also seems a bit, well, dangerous. Thank you for an insightful review.
