Great review! I don’t read a lot of non-fiction but I can appreciate how much of an impact an informative historical account of WWII can have on the reader. It’s amazing to learn the stories of our men and women who fought, aided, lived, loved, and died during this harrowing and tumultuous time in our history. Thanks so much for sharing.

Historical books usually read like textbooks. This one doesn't seem to, as far as I have read. I really hope it doesn't devolve into that.

There is something captivating about war stories. The fight for survival amidst extreme conditions, the harsh reality of constantly facing death.... 'Shot down' transports you back to WWII to catch a glimpse of what Howard Snyder and his crew went through. Great job on the review hsimone. This should be a great read...

Great review! I never had given any memoirs a read, save for watching memoir movies. But this book, as per your review, seemed amazing and the situation well described that I think I can visualize these events. I'd invest my time in reading this book.
