A true war story about the author's father's life as a pilot and the fate of his crew. This was a great book. I voted this as 2016 Book of the Year. Thank you for your review!

SHOT DOWN
This will be a great read, for those who are fans of this genre, mean while WWll is now history and I don't think anyone wants to experience such again,
This review is nice anyway.

Thanks for your review. This seems like an excellent first-hand account of WWII - an interesting and informative read.

I like this book because I can picture Howard's anxiety in leaving in wife and fighting in Europe. My favorite part of the book is the letters and journal entries that are included. This small detail allows the reader to connect with the main character better and makes it different from other war stories. I like that not only do they focus on the bravery of the men that served, but also focused on the brave women.

I know this is a good one as it was book of the year last year. It sounds fabulous. The story of a true hero. Shot down and loved to tell about it. Thanks for the review.

The book is an interesting collection of stories from WorldWar 2, a reminder of the those dark old and turbulent days of war. Perfect for readers who likes wartime stories, military, airforce trueStory and students of history. Congrats on the awards and on #BOTD

While this seems like an interesting read, I think I’ll pass on this book. I’m not a big fan in reading historical fiction novels. Great job on the review!

The book is a reminder of the great sacrifices that soldiers and their families make. They, the fighters and their waiting families alike, are all heroes.

War is such a great waste of resources, time, and lives. I hope we never see WWIII.

Thanks for the touching review, Hsimone!

Wow! I almost forgot that I was reading a review of the novel and not the novel itself. Great descriptions of what the pilots had to endure and worry about during their training and live combat. Lieutenant Snyder and his crew are true heroes. Thanks for the recommendation.

I've recently read and reviewed another book on WWII and again it was done through a series of letters, diaries and photos. It was awesome. I didn't realize till then that I enjoy historical non-fiction WWII stories, but I do. I'll pick up this book as well because it sounds similar to the other one.
