I love a book which the author can relate to personally. And this book, obviously the author is very close to it. I would love to buy this book on Kindle (by just reading the sample, I am very interested to read the whole book).

Not really into WWII books but the review really does make it interesting. The fact that he has to leave his family and go through a lot of scary situations just to make it out of the war makes you want to read more and more. Also thought it was touching how he names the plane after his child.

I enjoy reading about everyday people and their transformation to hero status. And who wouldn't think that any one of these military men, shot down over enemy territory, is a hero? And the Belgian civilians? The ones who risked their lives, their family's lives, their neighbor's lives? These everyday people, confronted by real evil, each fought how they could and did the best they could in a horrible situation.

It's nice to hear you enjoyed the book! I thought it was pretty cool how the author wrote a book about his father and his experience in WWII. I love the theme going on here of heroism, bravery, and sacrifice.

I absolutely love real-life accounts of heroism, especially those centered around WWII. The sacrifices those airmen made for our freedom today is almost inconceivable in this modern era. I'll definitely be adding this one to my to-read list.

Thank you for the review! This sounds like an amazing book about the American heroes of our Greatest Generation. I love learning about WWII and I’m excited to read this as it is a story I’m unfamiliar with.

The World War Two is a distant history for the people who are alive today as many were born many years after its end.
It is through the works of people like Steve Snyder which makes our generation to see through the selfless lives our forefathers lived during the time of war.
I have enjoyed reading this review and the book sounds interesting.

I love getting the chance to learn about parts of history not taught in school, including personal stories. WWII is not my favorite time period to learn about but this book sounds very compelling and it would be nice to read the personal stories of WWII flyers. Thank you for the in-depth review.
