The book Shot Down by Steve Snyder gives a very detailed and fascinating account about the pilot Howard Snyder and the crewmen's unique experience after their plane was knocked out of the sky by German fighters. The author did a splendid job in bringing the whole dramatic battle to live by setting up the superb background, recreating the events and showing captivating photographs. :o

Thank you so very, very much for the wonderful review of my book! I am truly grateful. I hope the other people who have made comments will also read it and find it as enjoyable. It was released in August 2014 and has received 15 national book awards so far.

FYI, the hardcover book has more than 200 time period photographs of the people who were involved and the places where the events took place. The eBook only has 24...

:text-thankyouyellow: eunice2868! I appreciate your kind words :)

I absolutely agree about needing nonfiction books regarding war to raise awareness and promote world peace. I know I need that reminder, and I'm not a person who would be making those big decisions. But, it does help to remember the people who risked their lives to keep others safe and to appreciate what we have because of their sacrifices.

Amen to that, eunice2868! Everyone who reads it seems to love it, but the challenge is to make people aware that it exists. Unless a person is a celebrity or a well know author, getting exposure is really difficult. It's all by word of mouth so I greatly appreciate every review and recommendation.

@ShotDown, 15 national book awards is an awesome achievement. Congratulations! :handgestures-salute:

I wish to share this empowering quote from Oprah Winfrey :

"The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but on significance--and then even the small steps and little victories along your path will take on greater meaning."
Rome wasn't built in a day, but they were laying bricks every hour.

@shotdown, I'm so happy you found this community! It must be hard as a writer to spread the word, but I think you're doing a great job so far! I've talked about your book to a couple of my friends outside of this community and they seem interested in reading. Fingers crossed! :)

Also, congratulations on your success! :tiphat:

@PashaRu, it's April's Book of the Month, but it wasn't part Book of the Day. You still have time then to read it though and participate for BOTM! :D
