Vennie L. Watts starts his book, Spiritual Rags to Spiritual Riches: Reaching Your Higher Self, by telling us what we would gain from reading it. He talks about how reading this book would add positivity to our lives. The book starts with Vennie talking about human progress and love. According to him, love helps us humans to obtain favor. He proceeds to talk about wealth, health, and wisdom. He goes on to tell us how we would get these three things. He gives us a lot of affirmations and lessons about life and friendship. He talked about the advantage of people working together and what they could achieve. He even tells us how to get “fame and fortune” in this world.
I love how Vennie started this book. He starts by explaining what we would encounter in this book, tells us what we would gain from it, and also tells us how we should apply it in our various lives to see results. Another thing I love about this book is the many affirmations in it. I found it in almost all the pages of this book. I also learned a lot from this book. I learned about love and what it could help humans achieve if sought. I learned about wisdom, health, and wealth and how to find and get them. This book made me understand why God gave us two ears, two eyes, and one mouth. I understood the value of working together from this book. When you work together with people and you understand them, you will be able to achieve so much. Above all, Vennie tells us how to become rich.
At the beginning of this book, Vennie shows us his table of contents but doesn’t follow it throughout this book. I didn’t like this about the book. I had to go back to always check the pages to see where another chapter begins from. I stopped at some point because it was tiring. The writing wasn't properly arranged. Vennie didn't exhaust a particular page before starting the next. I also found a lot of errors in this book. The errors were mostly hyphens placed in the wrong places. The hyphens were used to separate words that do not even need separation.
I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. I deducted two stars because of the negative aspects I stated above. I didn’t deduct any more stars because I learned a lot from this book. I love how short and straight to the point this book was. I didn’t even come across any difficult English terms while reading this book.
I recommend this book to people who want to be successful in life. According to Vennie, when you read this book and apply what you read in your life, you will be successful. Lovers of poetry will also find it interesting.
