Review of The Washington Mafia
The Washington Mafia: Justice for Brian Sicknick and Ashli Babbitt is a journalistic report of the actions of ex-President Donald Trump by Peter Gazerro
The opening chapters of this 63-page journal report on the events of the January 6th tragedy, which occurred as a result of Donald Trump losing the 2020 presidential election. Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., and wreaked havoc, and this incitement of violence led to the deaths of Police Officer Brian Sicknick and Air Force Veteran Ashli Babbitt. It was truly a tragedy, and a lot of people have expressed their anger in many ways. Peter Gazerro has sincerely expressed his anger and opinion in this book.
The author extensively talks about the actions of former President Donald Trump and his connections with corruption. The Washington Mafia is believed to be spearheaded by Trump and is an organized crime group that incites hate and violence against people who do not support Donald Trump. I was shocked to see so many popular names mentioned in this journal. The author did not mince words or try to cover up his disapproval of this syndicate group. With parodies, he called out Trump and his supporters, and many times, he used song lyrics to buttress his point.
One point that was noted was the incitement of hatred toward Nancy Pelosi. Even though I'm not so much a fan of American politics, for some time, I noticed Nancy getting unwarranted hate, especially on the internet. After reading this book, I got to understand where that hate was coming from. The Trump Hate Klan (THK) is said to instigate violence against everyone and anyone who does not support Trump.
While this was an insightful book, it was a bit overwhelming to me. Like I mentioned earlier, I am not an avid lover of American politics, but the author made it easy to understand his points, which he backed up with solid evidence. For the author, the purpose of writing this journal is to seek justice for Brian Sicknick and Ashli Babbitt. His wish is for Trump and his allies to get indicted for their crimes.
The author talked about other crucial topics like the Trump border wall, his lackadaisical attitude towards the COVID-19 virus, and even his weak and poor election campaign strategies, which undoubtedly led to his loss in the general elections. You should grab a copy of this book to enlighten yourself, especially if you are a lover of American politics and you're interested in the ongoing hullabaloo between Republicans and Democrats. Also, a mature audience is advised because there are several instances of profane language and mentions of narcotics.
All in all, the book was eye-opening and short. I found just a few minor errors, which did not change the fact that the book was professionally edited.
However, the author made a statement that was quite unsettling to me and, unarguably, would be provocative to Christians. He said, "After God made women, she made men for a woman’s entertainment." She did make us generally stronger. "I imagine the strength is for changing a flat tire and taking out the trash."
Maybe I'm a bit sensitive, but this is a cautionary note to all readers who are not of the opinion that God is a woman.
With that being said, I will give this book 4 out of 5 stars because the political jargon was a bit overwhelming, and I sometimes had a difficult time keeping up with the many names and incidents.
