Review of WIN X
WIN X by Irma Parone is the ultimate business guide revolving around organizational decision-making. Sometimes, the right decision is the most difficult, and the fear of making the wrong decision is crippling. When such decisions implicate your livelihood, the pressure is unbelievable. Join the author, Irma Parone, a bestselling international author as well as a leadership consultant, on the journey of applying WIN X to your company or business.
Not only does Irma Parone explain how much weight each step has, but she also provides alternative scenarios and consequent approaches for decision-making. Moreover, she wrote that brainstorming and brainwriting are to be perceived as two different concepts. This book was filled with tips that may seem obvious or not groundbreaking, yet the way they were explained and the format of the book helped deliver the points. According to the book, the way you present your decision to the people to whom it is relevant is essential.
I enjoyed that this book proposes a well-balanced solution for decision-making in the context of a company, as it includes the three stakeholders of that company. This solution includes eight steps for solving any issue related to decisions, all the while benefiting the customers, the employees, and the company to the maximum extent. Furthermore, I liked how the author inserted personal experiences and stories into the book, which made the credibility of the solution unquestionable. With these types of books, I always doubt the credibility of the information, yet Irma Parone chose her words and stories just right.
Irma Parone's writing style is convincing and clear. I enjoyed reading her explanations, and I couldn't find any inconsistencies or negative aspects. Another detail I found enjoyable was how each step of the solution started with a quote from a famous person, such as Albert Einstein or Napoleon Bonaparte. This is a professional detail and further proves the credibility of this short piece.
Taking all of the aspects discussed, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I found no typos or grammatical errors, which leads me to believe it was professionally edited.
I recommend this book to anyone who owns a company, works in a decision-making department, or is a customer of a company. This book is relevant if you are a CEO, a manager, a supervisor, or a customer. Likewise, if the decision will impact you, this book is also relevant for workers. This was an excellent book that guides readers through step-by-step solutions aimed at decision-making in an industrial or business context.
