Technological innovations from the First Industrial Revolution to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, continuously change how individuals carry out daily functions on personal and business levels. A lot of the time in the past and in present, cyber automation is predicted to replace human direct influence in carrying out operational and strategic tasks at home and workplaces, threatening closure of unsuspecting companies and trigger higher unemployment in the society. The 4IR(Fourth Industrial Revolution) introduces the coming together of the physical, biological and technological for the first time in human history. There is also a new blend of workforce whereby more employees move toward companies where they feel psychologically safe. Speed has become major contributing factor to success of 21st century organisations as you could be accelerating towards success or failure. The Inner CEO by Jeremy Blain, is for individuals and organisations that “plan” to be successful in the new business era. Jeremy provides answers to the questions; who are inner CEOs?, how to identify individuals who are able to take ownership?, and how can executives help unleash leaders at all levels within the organization?. Jeremy provides toolkits to as guide to help individual and traditional leaders to unleash their inner CEOs. Individuals and companies' executives and non-executives may want to find out how flatter company structures and empowering employees impact the success of their organization in the 4IR.

The scope is centred on empowering inner CEOs with necessary technological tools and leadership training to be able to make operational and strategic decisions which always align with the company’s goals with little input from executive’s influence and how this shift is necessary for the success in the 4IR. The author adds interviews with Industry leaders and professionals with experience empowering employees and unleashing in-role CEOs. The author followed the traditional structure by introducing the ideas and paradigm shifts threatening the continuous existence of 20th century companies, what individuals and organisations must do, the steps to achieve success, and how to test and measure the success of strategies applied.

The author used clear and self-explanatory infographics, bullet points, colour shades and tables to show relationship between terms which explain the actionable steps and activities individuals and company executives must apply to unleash in-role COEs either as an entrepreneur or as an employee. The look and feel of these graphics are modern with legible and non-cluttered font size with a good line height. Alternating the margin sizes, in way helped to introduce next page thereby keeping the reader engaged and fascinated as there’s no doubt about the modern feel of the book.

I loved the diagrams and graphics as they easily communicate the ideas they are meant to communicate. The dialogues with successful professionals on the theme of the book on empowering individuals at all levels to unleash inner CEO, were my favourites with stories embedded within these dialogues to gain more insight from their first-hand experiences.

I found no typographical or grammatic error while reading this book which shows it was exceptionally edited. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for the information made available in this book and for being exceptionally easy to understand.

This book is recommended for individuals looking forward to becoming an entrepreneur, company executives and non-executives who will be successful by using the toolkit provided by Jeremy to unleash in-role CEOs within their organisations.
