Play Golf Better Faster: From Weekend Golfer to Pro Golfer in Two Years by Kalliope Barlis is a self-help book about playing golf. But Kalliope Barlis won’t just teach you how to swing and get a hole-in-one. She will teach you way more than that. This book consists of three parts on how to play golf. The first part, Using Your Brain, is the main part of this book. Here the author teaches that to play golf you have to start with your brain. Using Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), you will be taught to master your imagination by using language artfully to create the best possible shots in both easy and challenging situations. The second part, Practicing Your Game, would take all that you have learned in part one and apply it to playing golf. This part teaches how you properly play golf while at the same time using your brain to the fullest. The last part, Playing Your Game, is more like the conclusion of the book. Where you take everything you have done in practice and put it into play.

This book caught me by surprise. I never played golf, but after reading this book, I actually imagined myself playing golf. The NLP technique is what I really like about this book. Because that technique could be applied to other things in life. Although the author's main focus is to teach golf, I tried to use NLP in doing other things and it worked out just as well. I also liked how this book taught the reader to maintain a healthy and youthful life. The author used easy-to-understand words and delivered her message in a very fun way. That is why reading this book is an enjoyable experience.

The author also did a wonderful job of explaining everything about golf. I learned a lot from this book. Only after reading this book did I find out that there are different names for the swings in golf. Such as chip shots, pitch shots, sand shots, and putting. Also, you don’t just grip your club in golf; you have to hold the club in your hand in a way that gives you committed command of your club. I never thought I would enjoy a book about golf, but I did. This is proof that the author did an excellent job with this book.

There is nothing to dislike about this book. I found a few errors, but I can say that this book is professionally edited. Because of all the things I mentioned above, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Simple explanations and a technique that could be applied beyond golf made this book suitable for everyone, not just golfers. That is why I recommend this book to those who have just started playing golf or never played golf at all. While those who are not interested in golf could still benefit from this book because it taught useful tips to maintain a healthy and youthful life.
