Reading Living in Color gives you a whirlwind of emotions. It was heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. The author, Mike Murphy, writes in a way as if he is showing you for real what has really happened right there and then. Their story was a perfect example of what they say in the book, "Love bears all things, love believes all things, love hopes all things, love endures all things." Realizing this is a true story, you will get goosebumps (in a good way) feeling the soulmate kind of love that they had, wishing you'll be able to find yours too.
The story centered on Margot, Mike Murphy’s wife, and their life together through struggles with a fatal condition. Margot has been a courageous woman fighting cancer with exceptional talent to overcome pain and fear and overcoming difficulties life has given to them over such a long time. With the help of his husband, Mike Murphy, who never leave her side during the most challenging times of her life, they did everything in their power for her to get better and to be able to still be in this physical world, especially with their loved ones.
Additionally, it was eye-opening for people who haven’t experienced or been informed about such kind of situation like me, and maybe, can be comforting to those people in the same situation. They have shown how hard it is for the person and their family to experience such things and how it affects everyone in their life. It can be life-changing. It makes you look at your life, reflect on your circumstances, love, and live life better and happier. I gave this book 4 out of 4 stars for letting me experience such intense emotions after a long time of reading lots of books.
I may have disapproved of how their story started but as the story went on, I know such a love story was rare to find and I just became so happy for these people who found each other to stay and support each other not just in good times but especially in such crucial, excruciating times.
It is highly recommended for people who want to experience a wonderful love with all kinds of emotions, and who are unprejudiced towards Eastern traditions and their beliefs. A quick experience in a painful yet exceptional love story. This is the book for you!
