Review of The Truth Is Beyond Belief!
The Truth Is Beyond Belief! by Jerry Durr is a spiritual/ philosophical book about discovering the true essence of self through positive thoughts and living life to the fullest based on that discovery.
The author has studied different religions and teachings and has concluded that illusions are merely a product of our minds. Before we can find truth and peace of mind, we must erase illusions from our consciousness. Only then can perfection be achieved in our lives.
The truth in this book is simple and crystal clear. Our thoughts control our perception of life and our actions. To thrive, we must infuse positivity into our thoughts and consciousness. I love what the author wrote in Chapter 4 about the past, present and future. He states that the past is a memory, the future is an imagination, and the present is reality. This resonated so powerfully with me. Like some people, I tend to live in the past because of the trauma I’ve experienced. I also fear the future because it’s unknown. Hence I tend to ignore the present, which is my reality. Thus, I am unable to thrive in the present.
I also love what he said in Chapter 10 about negative emotions like hate, fear and guilt having no presence in life other than what we give it. This is another life-changing thought for me. Basically, the more we breathe life into negative emotions, the more they appear to be real. When something is real, it affects us either positively or negatively. Illusions can never affect us because they are not real. Our thoughts turn them into reality.
There’s nothing about this book I dislike. The writing style is straightforward. It is beautifully written, and there are no errors to distract you from the message it contains. It is thought-provoking and would resonate with anyone regardless of religion and belief.
Overall, I would rate it 4 out of 4 stars for being such a compelling read. The pages were in a poem format that made for easy reading and comprehension. As mentioned before, I did not find any errors, so I would say it was exceptionally edited. Young and old readers can enjoy this book because of the absence of profanity and erotic scenes. I daresay the book is more spiritual than religious, so it is not limited to people of a particular belief system. Anyone struggling with negative emotions and trying to find a place in this world can learn from this book. I would even recommend it to people that do not believe in a higher power if they can keep an open mind and focus on the message therein.
