In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All caught me in a whirlwind of questions that haunt me from the periphery of consciously living. Eckhart Aurelius Hughes has gathered the divine questions and answers effortlessly within these pages. Needing to follow no particular doctrine, we can all find the oneness that unifies. I have rated Mr. Hughes's book four stars out of four.

I had found many doctrines that were too divisive to unify any masses that did not reject or divide their own numbers at least ten-fold. As a self-proclaimed searcher and wanderer for over three decades, I rejoiced while reading this book; it sang a harmony; it painted a scene. I found myself dazed yet in awe. Had I found this book years ago, I may not have had the same reactions as today. I trust that it would have made it into the handful of books I have gone back to over the years, hoping to glean a new nugget of wisdom to carry forth.

I recommend reading In It Together to anyone on a path or looking for a path toward the enlightenment of self. The path each of us chooses varies and veers from our first rise to conscious beings. Mr. Hughes has been able to take us along these paths and divergences in his book. Knowing the majority of us have to take these twisting, circular paths can frustrate the most patient of us all.

How odd it was to find myself at 40 years of age and come to a small degree of clarity, which was I am no further than I was on the eve of my birth. And again, I sit here after reading Mr. Hughes's insightful gem, nodding to myself with a whisper of a smile. That clarity comes as fleetingly as the first warm spring breeze on my hillside.

Mr. Hughes writes on page 116, "In the words of Voltaire, you are free the instant you want to be." He manages to alert even the most pious amongst us to the constraints we have self-imposed within ourselves to our environments. In return awards us with his/our moments of clarity.

This book of epiphanies is known to us already, pointed out in the subtle clues we witness each day, as a whole and a part of the whole. As such, this book would be a contender for addition to a book club reading of a philosophical organization, small or large. This book would make an insightful companion for those fighting self-hurtful addictions and those who love them.

My positive rating of 4-stars:
Flow
Editing/Grammar
Content
Originality
Engagement

My negative rating:
Kindle Interactiveness

The following might be a Kindle problem. I did try it on my smartphone app and Kindle Cloud readers. The highlights in the Table of Contents seem a bit off from standard. Perhaps I haven't come across them as such before. There are double in the contents and the notes. After reading the entire book and then redirecting myself through the contents table, I felt I had double the amount of links necessary.
