You're Only as Sick as Your Secrets: Sexual Abuse Awareness, Prevention and Intervention by Donna Jacques Temm spurs from Donna's therapy session with her counselor. Donna's experience of child abuse inspired this book. Battling with a shaking marriage and her sick son, Donna struggles to find her freedom from her hurtful past. The book comprises Donna's therapy sessions. Her therapeutic session of EMDR helped her to recollect the awful past details of abuses. This triggered unexpressed trauma, sealed up in the body due to this abuse. Her therapy sessions were able to "resurface repressed memories," which was one most important factors this book discusses.

There are several positive things I can write about this book. The book was greatly enhanced with personal life challenges, positioning it as a guide to overcoming emotional trauma. I love that the book directives were not only on sexual abuse. But it was a combination of exposure to the physical and psychological abuse that follows sexual abuse. This approach gave the book an impressive note of its uniqueness of this book.

One striking thing I noticed was that extreme earnestness was evident in Jacques Temm's book. This was impressive to read. Every chapter unveils a repressed resurface memory, which gives her continuity in the next chapter. Readers will find this book relatively educational. It covers varieties of trauma caused by sexual abuse.

The book is coherent in different areas. The most lucrative part of the book is the awareness this book creates. The book divulges the fact that sexual abuse of children occurs without the slightest knowledge of parents. This book brought to light the mental and psychological abuse children go through due to threats from their abusers. Donna did justice to this book by providing helpful recommendations regarding this aspect. Also, Donna's book exhorts parents to stimulate fruitful conversations with their children. Donna's experience as a child stirred up an overprotective nature in her.

This book was constructively written and focused on healing. I found this quite exquisite to read. Donna's time with the counselor took an amazing transformation in her life, and those scenes in the book were therapeutic. Donna was able to follow her healing process during therapy sessions. This is where her life underwent an extraordinary turnaround.

Every part of this book was worth reading. I also respect the fact that the grammatical proficiency in this book was flawless. There was nothing about this book that I disliked. You're Only as Sick as Your Secrets: Sexual Abuse Awareness, Prevention and Intervention by Donna Jacques Temm deserves a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars. This book seems professionally edited. While reading, I could only identify two errors. I will recommend this book to parents, guidance, and educators. There are several lessons throughout the book.

Donna sure did went through a lot of abuse while growing up. I am glad that she was able to conquer it enough to talk about it and publish it as a book. This way she would be helping readers and other people who are going through what she went through. Thanks for a beautiful review.

This sounds so rough. I really admire people brave enough to tell their stories of trauma and their fight to overcome it. Witnessing the suffering of those who were abused is heart-breaking, especially when they do not get the help they need and deserve. Based on your excellent review, I sincerely hope that this book reaches the right people and help them heal and/or protect others.

We see a lot of books around these heavy topics, and most of them turn out to be motivating, but only a few consider showing the practical steps to a healthier and happier life. this book is definitely from the latter category. thank you for this wonderful review.
