The MECE Muse: 100+ Selected Practices, Unwritten Rules, and Habits of Great Consultants by Christie Lindor is an educative book about ways of becoming a great consultant. A consultant is like a 'business doctor,' and there are unwritten rules and habits that great consultants possess. Some of them include; boosting personal brand, having a mindset of a great consultant, having a toolkit that contains the information, materials, and resources that boosts the competitive advantage, and reflecting on the career to see areas that need improvements. Consulting is a career that is different from the other careers, and it involves networking with other people. Great consultants create and maintain their network, which they will need to leverage in their work. The book explains many unwritten rules of becoming a great consultant, which circles a great consultant mindset, great consultant conditioning and performance, and reflection on the consulting career. They are the main pillars of great consultants, and understanding the main rules that accompany them makes one a great consultant. Great consultants use the systematic approach style in their work, enabling them to reflect and make important career decisions. The approach also enables them to gather information, conduct analysis, and consult, thus, making informed decisions.

The book had many positive aspects that made me like the book. Firstly, the author has included interviews with great consultants, making the reader trust the information. The use of interviews from great consultants also helps the reader understand the main points since they are explained further by the interviews. Secondly, the user has provided additional books that provide supplementary knowledge on the information contained in the book. It enables the reader to look for the additional information in case they need it. Finally, the way the author explained how to be a great consultant based on the complicated rules was adorable.

The book was professionally edited; thus, I did not find anything to dislike. The way the author explained ways of becoming a great consultant was admirable.

I rate The MECE Muse: 100+ Selected Practices, Unwritten Rules, and Habits of Great Consultants by Christie Lindor a rating of four out of four stars. Even though the book had a few errors, it would be unfair to deduct a star because every other aspect was perfect. The book structure was great; where the author put the essential points in categories that they fit in was adorable. The author also used simple language, making the it understandable.

I recommend this book to people aspiring to be consultants, consultants who want to be great, and great consultants who want to remain great consultants. It is helpful to those groups of people because it explains the unwritten rules and habits of great consultants. Using that information, one can become and remain to be a great consultant.
