Soul-Fullness by Tosin King James is a book dedicated to guide the reader into a deeper spiritual connection through twenty one days of simple instructions. It all starts with an intention, a problem or question that the reader wants to solve. Every day is framed by an anecdote either from the author or someone he knew that leads to a reflection about our soul, purpose and our behavior as humans. Every reader’s journey will not be ultimately led by Tosin King James but by the readers, who are meant to seek and hear guidance from the Guardian Angel and other Saints. Through this search you could find more than the answer to your initial intention, you could learn to resignify or remember the true meaning for: the human body, spiritual guidance, what you can control and what you can not. Or you can have a better relationship with other souls. The book is written to enhance your awareness, gratitude and your spiritual connection.

The main positive aspect of Soul-Fullness is that I could hear the voice of the author. Tosin King James poured his soul into this book and he dives into this interesting concept: soul and spiritual growth. He speaks with authority about the subject, he is firm but kind in his words. The techniques are not difficult to follow, all it’s required is disposition and an open mind. Something I found very useful was the glossary he includes at the end of the book. While I was familiar with most terms, it makes it easy to read for someone who’s starting in the spiritual path too.

My favorite part of the book was the artwork that divides each chapter. Collages filled with expression and emotion. A splash of color that raised my curiosity on each day’s topic. I found many positive things from reading this book: it is a good practice to work on your awareness on a daily basis, it is a good reminder to appreciate things everyday, and there is a sense of peace that fills my entire body while going through the anecdotes.

Something that didn’t work well for me was the structure of the book. It is divided into daily lessons or techniques. Sometimes the author starts with an anecdote and you can find the suggested work at the end of the chapter. But a few times the technique is in the middle and everything else is mixed up, so I had to go back to check what I had to do for that day more than once. The technique does not become more advanced towards the end, but the mind of the reader and their faith could grow, so exercises could feel more powerful as you move forward. Also, there are words that you are supposed to chant and use in your practice, but I wasn’t sure if the pronunciation was right so that could be included in the glossary.

While I enjoyed reading the book I noticed a lot of things that could be better in the structure aspects to make it easier to digest and to improve the pace. That’s why I give it 3 out of 4 stars.

The author puts soul before religion but through the pages you will find the name of God is mentioned many times. There is no particular affiliation to a religion in the reflections, the stories or in the exercises the author is proposing; however, there is faith across every word. This book is, after all, what Tosing King James heard and wrote with the Guardians’ guidance. Therefore, I don’t recommend this book to everyone unless they can keep an open mind. This book however, is for anyone with curiosity about deepening spiritual growth, independently from their religion. I consider keeping a journal is important to deepen the experience reading Soul-Fullness: A 21-Day D-I-Y Program for Spiritual Healing, Prophecy, Dream Study, Inner Guidance, and Total Mastery.
