Living in Color by Mike Murphy is a book about love, family and life challenges. The author talks about the life him and his wife led after she was diagnosed with a chronic disease early into their relationship. The author's wife was a peoples person and even when she was fighting for her life and at her weakest she was always there for everyone, never losing her smile and her kindness. The two had a challenges right from the day they met. They both had to make life altering decisions for them to be together.
The authors writing style is admirable. He dispersed their love story in parts, each containing beautiful letters, SMS and pictures, which I am certain readers will appreciate. This book was uplifting, it educated me not to succumb to my bad days. This book really made me believe in love and the power of positive thinking. The book held a lot of emotions, the author captured every moment beautifully, big or small with both words and pictures. The sad parts in this book were extremely sad and I found myself feeling for the couple having to spend their days in and out of hospitals.
There are no negative aspects in this book. Despite it being mostly sad, I really enjoyed reading this book. The author allowed himself to be vulnerable. He was always supportive, taking her to every appointment and on days she felt like she was losing herself he was there to pick her right back up.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book is professionally edited. I did not come across any errors.
To anyone in need of a spiritual uplift or a little hope that things do get better even when it's not the way we want. I would recommend this book. I strongly believe this book might make someone give love a fighting chance.
