Review of Happiness is All We Want!
Happiness in essence has no general definition as it varies directly with each individual, their aspirations, habits and so on. Happiness as every other emotion can also be felt, transmitted, mis-interpreted and disrupted making it temporary especially when compared to the modern society's high cost and low standard of living. The myriad of expectations tends to foster individual neglect often directly related to work, commitments, set targets which further eliminates any form of long term happiness either due to health, spiritual, social, financial or other related circumstances. Happiness is All We Want posits several solutions with relatable challenges which have proven to be of use in the past and present, but will continue to be useful in the future of mankind, as through it the possibility of long term happiness can be attained and sustained. Happiness abounds internally and not externally, as anything external to the human (not excluded) is of a temporary nature and can therefore only give temporary satisfaction to an emphasized need.
Happiness is All We Want by Ashutosh Mishra is a very motivational, realistic, educational and relatable book. The author designed the piece to analyse both issues and solutions using relatable circumstances with reference to teachings that boost clarity and understanding. The book was also written with the first person perspective facilitating the mental discourse of the reader. The reference made to personalities such as Sadghuru and the likes was also enriching in itself.
I found the book to be very relevant and exciting especially when taking into consideration, the current economic situation and social lifestyle of individuals. I found no negative aspects to criticize while reading, and intend to utilize it's content in the near future.
The book was well edited with no errors, very interesting, practical and reassuring. My rating of the book is a 4 out of 4 as the books value cannot be overly emphasized.
I recommend the book to the youths, The aged, the working class and the society as a whole, so as to enable a concise and clear understanding of the term, 'Happiness'.
