Review of Happiness is All We Want!
Happiness is All We Want! It is a book on the pursuit of happiness. The book navigates through a restless search for true happiness, which in most cases turns to be elusive. The author, Ashutosh Mishra, asserts that every action of our lives is inclined to search for happiness. The book's main objective is to reveal the actual situation of perfect happiness, and the writer affirms that true contentment comes from within a person.
The book views happiness from three perspectives, i.e., mental well-being, physical well-being, and spiritual well-being. In the first part of the book, the writer says it is vital to understand the mind and how it works; he says the mind controls us, and sometimes it's tough to control it. He uses the analogy of a restless monkey to argue that our minds are of perennial streams full of random thoughts. The author outlines that meditation is the remedy for an unsettled mind, calling this 'sedating the monkey.'
In the book's second part, the author says that the human body has the burdens of physical and mental loads, just like a donkey. He says that our bodies require maintenance through physical exercise, getting out of a busy schedule for entertainment, or taking a short, healthy break from regular routines. The author concludes the book by explaining the spiritual aspect of our happiness, which he calls a "high state of well-being related to our souls." When people are spiritually aware, they eliminate blinkers from their lives. The writer admits that spiritual concepts are hard to explain, and it takes a leap of faith to comprehend them fully.
I liked the book mainly because it is formatted appropriately; the book is broken down into three parts and further subdivided into chapters, which helps the reader follow its plot easily. The book covers emerging technologies and their impact on everyday lives, making its message relevant to the current generation. The author uses his own life experiences to bring out his primary arguments, making the text lively and authentic.
I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. The book has no grammatical errors, indicating that the editors did the editing professionally. The summary provided at the end of every chapter makes it easy for the reader to recap the main points of that chapter. I recommend this book to those who want a good personality and self-development; it will provide tips on living a meaningful life balanced with happiness.
