Allow me to put any skepticism you may have concerning this book to rest. As an avid reader, I enjoy the storytelling aspect of books. I do, however, find it hard to focus in. I was skeptical myself when I first started this book, but Juan Partida captured my attention on the first page. The book itself feels more like a conversation with a great mentor or scholar than most of the motivational books you may find at your local bookstore. Partida is nothing like the cheesy “Change Your Life” books. The advice is logical, strong, and easy to follow.
In this book, I learned how to grapple with my own emotions, how to focus in on a task or goal (a very useful subject for someone with ADD), and how to set a Master Plan.
I would like to cut in and say that I did indeed recognize that this book is catered much to young men. As a woman, I still found it a very intriguing and useful read. The only drawback I had to this book was that I would have preferred it was directed more to a gender neutral audience, because I believe this book would be useful for all, not just young buisnessmen.
I start college in a few days, and sometimes it is hard to believe I am an adult. There are so many things I want to get done and above all, I want to be successful as much as the next person. This book taught me much, and I will definitely be re reading it as a guide to my daily life. Setting goals, directing my efforts. All made a bit less daunting by reading this book.
I do not hesitate to give this book a 4 out of 4 rating.
