Meade L. Fischer is a person who loves nature and spends most of his time with it. Cosmic Coastal Chronicles tells the stories of his encounters with nature. Follow him on his hikes, surfs, and kayaking adventures, and experience nature through his eyes.

Cosmic Coastal Chronicles is not just a record of the author's travels along the west coast of North America. It's primarily a record of the inner quest of the author to find, explore, and define himself. Fischer shares his thoughts on certain things concerning life and how he's been able to gain some insights into life from interacting with nature. I believe that from just reading this book, the reader will also benefit greatly.

One thing I gained from this book was the secret to happiness. From Fischer's story, I understood that happiness wouldn't come from having money but from doing the things you love the most. Beyond this, there was a lot of wisdom within the pages of the book.

An attribute that endeared the book to me was the detailed descriptions given by the author in the book. He described every event and place in explicit detail, and the overall effect on me was impressive. I've not been to most of the places he mentioned, but his descriptions make it feel like I've been there. I could make a mental picture of those places, and I'd love to visit them myself.

I would also commend the author's choice of chapter titles. The author's creativity came to the fore in this regard. The titles were coined such that they told what the chapter was about without telling it. What I meant is that, at face value, some of the titles looked abstract. However, somewhere down the chapter, they made sense. It would take much creativity to pull this off.

Additionally, I wouldn't fail to appreciate the book's conciseness. At 172 pages, one could ingest its content in a short time. This strategy made sense, considering the book fell in the non-fiction genre and few folks would have the patience to read a voluminous text.

I noticed a few minor errors in the book and would commend the editors for doing a good job. I would give the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars because there was nothing I disliked about it. If you enjoy traveling and being with nature, then you would love this book. I believe readers would even come to appreciate nature more and learn one or two new things about her.
