Review of The Little Book For Big Transformations (2nd Edition)
According to the oxford dictionary, transformation is a drastic change in form or appearance. The Little Book for Big Transformations (2nd Edition) by Skip Jennings is a non-fictional book about the journey of human transformation, not only in body but also in spirit. Skip Jennings graduated from the Agape International Spiritual Center as a licensed spiritual practitioner.
This book takes us through a thirty-one-day journey of teachings, affirmations, and motivations that can help one develop positive attitudes and mindset in his or her life. Each day is assigned a specific topic which the author hopes will change the mindset of the readers and enable them to tackle any situation that they may go through. This book seeks to address almost all the situations that we can relate to as humans. It tries to give solutions to different problems and affirmations to encourage the readers.
The stages of transformation, according to this book, include seeing the need to change, the desire for a deeper transformation, the beginning of the quest for freedom, and evolution. One can transform by either meditating or reading spiritual teachings. Jennings encourages readers to engage in exercises like yoga. He points out that when we practice yoga, we consider ourselves moving energy of prayer and blessings. We then radiate this energy out to all beings and the beautiful world we are in.
This book has forty-four pages. It starts with the author dedicating the book to some of his friends, the acknowledgment, then the introduction. Each page afterward is assigned a specific day and topic which ends with an affirmation. Each of the pages starts with a quote either from a book that the author has read, a lyric from a song, or even a quote from the Bible. The author uses both the simple present tense and the simple past tense to convey his message.
What I liked most about the book is how the author uses diverse sources as references. He gets his information from books, song lyrics, and even movies. For this reason, it will appeal to many people; those who enjoy reading the Bible will resonate with the biblical references, those who enjoy reading books will resonate with the quotes from different books, and those who enjoy listening to music will resonate with the song lyrics cited. Since I didn't find any grammatical errors while reading, this book was adequately edited.
In conclusion, there isn't anything I disliked about this book. I, therefore, rate it 4 out of 4 stars and recommend it to anyone who feels low in this life and needs some motivation and spirit-lifting. It gives solutions to almost all the situations that one may go through in this life. The daily affirmations and encouragements in this book are all that everyone needs to have a lovely mindset and a positive attitude in life. I can't think of any groups of people who won't enjoy this book.
