Review of Brand Real
I have always avoided reading motivational books because I saw them as dull and a waste of time, but when I came across the book Brand Real by Vasken Kalayjian, I was surprised to find the book quite interesting and informative. Vasken employed an exceptional writing technique to take us through the steps needed to navigate dangerous waters as new business owners.
Brand Real takes us on a discovery of how to use branding to boost our fledgling business. In this book, we learn that branding is an essential part of a company, how a good brand would set one apart from its competitors and make them a success. We also understand the importance of a brand, and the need to be authentic was not underemphasized. The author takes us through details and how values are fundamental as they affect branding.
As the book progressed, we also learn about naming and how important it is. A name could tell people about your values. The author also taught us to develop a sound business strategy by utilizing SWOT, how BigData is very important to a business and attracting and keeping top talents. If you want to know how to react if bad things happened to your enterprise, what the best way to get financial backers is, how to implement archetypes in business, and so on, then this information-packed book by Vasken is the best place to start.
I found positive aspects to this book. I liked this book because it has a realistic feel to it. A company owner would find this book relatable and could quickly transform what they read into a reality. The author made sure to address the readers he assumed are potential business owners directly, and it made this book feel different from the old way of writing motivational books. This book was exceptionally well-edited as I found no grammatical errors.
However, the negative aspect of this book is that it seemed a bit repetitive. The author would highlight one point in different ways. It felt like I was being told the same thing repeatedly, which might make one bored despite the strong contents of the book.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I did not rate it higher because even though I enjoyed the information in it, I felt the author's repetitiveness might make one lose interest while reading the book. I recommend this book to all business owners and people who want to start a business. However, anyone looking for a motivational book would find this useful too.
