I really thank OBC for featuring books like this. I mean, this definitely is what I need right now. It could help me answer some questions I seek answers but don't really have any answers at all. This is truly awesome. Thanks

It's never easy to lose a life partner. I'm glad the author could still get to know what their mother was like through letters and photographs. Congrats on BOTD!

I applaud the research the author had to do to write such a detailed encounter of her mom even though she never knew her. Besides the big help that was her father's journal, I'm sure she was driven by her own passion to know who her mother was.

This could be an interesting and inspirational read; a memoir that deals with a family history where the father raised five children including the author, after the death of his wife. Thank you for the review!

The author did justice to this book. I learnt 'self ability'. Although we tend to need help from our fellow humans in one way or the other, situations may make one to take the bull by the horn and make things happen.

I find it quite interesting how the author has used a statue as a reference to portray the problems in the family over the years. I'm glad there were pictures and letters that must have supported the author's writing to a great degree. Thank you for the review.

Read about the author's family and the significance of the serenity statue on their lives. This is a story of misfortune and sadness that follows the death of Grace, the author's mother.

It's sad how Henry lost Grace right after giving birth to Eve yet quite interesting how Eve came to know her mother through old family photos and letters.

The story was full of hope. The Claylands family was inspired by the statue of serenity.

What a story! I think Eve's father is a gem; most men wouldn't be so committed to their children after their wife's death neither will they live without remarrying almost immediately. The couple must have shared a bond that transcended life. Thanks for the review.

I really sympathize Henry, he had to raise 5 kids as a single father while they all wouldn't have recovered from Grace's death. I have always like emotional and touching books, I believe this one will end up on my bookshelf.

I like the idea of the parallel between the destruction the statue receives and that of the family. Thanks for the great review!

With death comes a myriad of emotions, I love how the author expressed such phenomena. Thanks for the review.
