The book is all about an African American father who lived his life full of obstacles and struggles. The bad experiences he had in his childhood due to racism was the source of his growth and wisdom and he wants to use those experiences as a tool to raise his son in a way that won't harm him instead develop the child's view of the world. Mr. Heard was a man you can relate to even though we have different experiences in life, his life was not a type of life you would envy but the lessons he acquired in his experiences is what you will envy for. He wrote this book to be a way of telling his son his life story and learn from it.

The positive aspect in this book is that it can be a good lesson to adults who currently have the same struggles as to Mr. Eric L. Heard and in his book Reflections of an Anxious African Amercan Dad you can help yourself realize you are getting extremely anxious on seeking for the most appropriate way of raising your child that leads to not helping at all.

However, there is a slight negative aspect in this book such as the use of profane words "damn" and "f**k" on pages 8, 11, 18, and 36. Regardless of that the book is still amazing. There were no traces of typos, wrong grammars, and inappropriate punctuations.

This book is what the readers are looking for if they want a book to learn from. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book have no errors and it is well edited. Although the author used some profane words it is tolerable. Moreover, you can learn a lot of lessons from this book. You can relate from it and the more you dive in to the chapters the more you will feel emotionally attached to it. Moreover, readers may realize that they are in the wrong path and try to navigate their way to the right path through the lessons from this book.

I recommend this book to adults who suffer from racism and also perfect to read even if you are not a target of racism. Parents can get a lot of lessons from this book specifically about the limits of their actions that can affect their children. In addition, teens can also read this and learn from this book. All in all, the book is exceptional and I highly recommend it.
