[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "In the footsteps of disease" by martin gwent lewis md.] [rwc=id460190-125]4 out of 4 stars.[/rwc]Being a doctor is certainly very stressful. The fact is that the medical profession requires a lot of love and sacrifice. Many would agree that doctors are people of crucial importance to society because they save human lives. In the Footsteps of Disease: Adventures in Pathology by Martin Gwent Lewis M.D. is a non-fiction book that follows the author's life path from medical school to the medical profession and cancer research.

The author provides a lot of detailed information about different phases and areas of his life. The focus is primarily on his medical career. At the beginning of the book, the author recounts his student days. He recalls working in different hospital wards and lists their specifics and characteristics. He further describes his career development and reveals interesting stories from his numerous travels around the world. He describes his stay in Uganda and the beginning of his research on skin cancer. He has collaborated with colleagues from different cities around the world. The author also describes his experience as a professor and doctor of pathology in London, Montreal, Chicago, Washington, and Florida. He also compares hospitals and medical schools between different countries and emphasizes the importance of investing in a quality health system.

The main thing I like about this book is the abundance of information about various diseases. The author also provides a lot of information about doctors, biologists, and other experts in various fields of medicine who have had a great influence on the development of medicine. Also, medical terms are explained in a way that any person can easily understand them. I also like that the book contains photos of hospitals and schools where the author has spent a significant part of his life. In addition, I really like the quotes from famous physicians that are added at the end of each chapter. I was also intrigued by the author’s interest in language learning.

There is nothing in the book that I do not like. I really enjoyed reading it. The author’s life is truly fascinating and inspiring. Important life lessons can also be learned from the book. I also like that he has a lot of hope and faith in the new generation of doctors and medical scientists. At the same time, he emphasizes the importance of supporting organizations such as the World Health Organization.

All things considered, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Although the book primarily describes the author's medical career, it also touches on other important aspects of his life. The author explains the importance of living in the moment and enjoying the little things. I did not encounter any grammatical errors. I would primarily recommend this book to all medical students. I think from this book they could get an impression of what awaits them in life. I would also recommend it to anyone who loves memoirs and autobiographical books. ****** In the footsteps of disease View: on Bookshelves
