Review by Chaymae -- Let’s Mountain Bike!
Let's Mountain Bike!: The Complete Guide to Mountain Biking by Paul Molenberg is a completely detailed book that makes its reader understands in depth everything about the sport of mountain biking, from choosing the bike to preparing for races.
In this book the author shares with us his whole experience and literally everything he learned about mountain biking. It is rare to find such generous guide that provides satisfying answers to almost every single question that can come to your mind.
The book starts with an introduction that explains what is mountain biking exactly and what its benefits, and after that the author takes us on an interesting journey that consists of five parts: The bikes, preparing the ride, riding skills, fitness training; you may think that those four parts are enough and they cover every possible aspect but there is a chapter called everything else where the author truly discusses everything else about mountain biking. The author divided those long parts into twenty chapters to make them easier to read. It is hard to find something about mountain biking that this book did not cover.
The book is highly visual and illustrated, and its data is represented in different forms which helps the reader grasp the idea in a clearer way. It is also written in a simple way that can be understood by anyone whether they are beginners or experts. I myself not an expert or even interested in mountain biking or any other type of biking, however I was able to read the book, understand it and somehow enjoy it.
Another great thing about this guide is the fact that even though the book covers everything about mountain biking but at the same time it does not contain unnecessary or irrelevant details. I can say it is almost perfectly written it terms of simplicity and respecting the reader’s time and mind.
The only thing I can criticize about the book is having a lot of technical details which I do not enjoy. However, I understand that it is a biking's guide and it must contain such mechanical informations.
The guide seems professionally edited; I could barely find any mistakes or typos. And not to mention there is no profanity or inappropriate content. Anyone who has even the slightest interest for mountain biking must read this book, it is extremely beneficial and I highly recommend it. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.
