Excellent information presented in layman's terms. After reading about his personal situation, I found hope for my situation. He shows the way how to negotiate with creditors and settle your debt. Although many will not find themselves in the same dire situation experienced by Mr. Newbery, his approach will work for anyone. He provided excellent tips from personal experience. Debt can affect many areas of your life and must be taken seriously. Sometimes the disgrace of having debt and not being able to pay it is embarrassing and can make you feel like a failure. Jorge helps you pick yourself up and work a plan. The detailed instructions provided show what worked for Jorge. Depending upon a person's situation, his method can help see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The book explains everything you've always wanted to know about creditors. We've all experienced a harassing call at one time or another, and Jorge shows how to handle the calls. The information provided gives a step by step plan on how to handle your debt. He gives us the information we need to be in charge of our debt. Take ownership and forge ahead with getting a fresh start in life. His book isn't the typical sales pitch to sign up so they can help and you end up with more debt. He takes you through each step of how to either pay pennies on the debt you owe or rid it once and for all. No matter what kind of debt you're in, he has a way to help you see clearly how you can get off the hamster wheel and start fresh with eliminating debt.

It is scary to decide to stop paying and then start getting phone calls from creditors. Once you realize you have a serious problem with debt the stress can become overwhelming. It's easy to put your head in the sand and dodge the calls and ignore the letters, but they never go away and it sets you up for failure to move forward with your life. Getting a home, car, or car insurance or even renting a place becomes an issue because your credit has been tarnished. Gone is the confidence you once had to be able to purchase anything you want. This book will allow you, if you've learned anything, to make a plan and pay off the debt and hopefully set up a budget and stick to it. I rate this book a 4 out of 4.
