Executive Hoodlum by John Costello is an autobiography which started off describing one of the author's con artist of a father's many scams. Then we read about a sad but very interesting and well written trip down memory lane in a chronological order from when Costello's parents met up until the time of having written this book. John Costello did a fantastic job and I would definitely read other works by him if he ever created such.
When I chose to read this book I was not sure of what it would entail. The description seemed interesting but I was not sure if I wanted to read it at the time or not. I had decidedly passed on immediately choosing this book as I had done so easily for others and ended up almost bypassing this book completely but changed my mind at the very last minute. I am glad that I did.
I rate this book four out of four stars. The reason for this rating of mine is that despite what the author had to actually go through in his life to write such a story, he did it near perfectly. I am so proud of John Costello. For everything he has accomplished in life and for every bad thing he got past and did not let bother of affect him. For conjuring up such a great book to detail his story which he clearly worked so hard on telling.
My most favorite part of Executive Hoodlum was the beginning. Because it immediately had me hooked from the start and I was able to read it without losing interest once. I did not really have a least favorite part because of how satisfied I was with the story overall, but the only thing I can think of was the lack of detail about his second wife. In my honest opinion there was much more detail about his first wife and failed pregnancies than his second wife and actual children born. I would have liked to learn more about them.
I would recommend this book to everyone without a doubt. There is not a single person that I think would not enjoy this so there is not anyone that I would not recommend Executive Hoodlum to. This book left me feeling satisfied and more determined than ever to keep going through my life as a good person and eventually maybe I would get a happy ending. I am certain that you will enjoy this book.
