Tears in His Bottle, written by Linda Prescott-Precise, details her story from childhood to the present day. She wants her readers to know that through every trial and triumph, God was faithfully by her side even when she wasn't fully acknowledging that divine presence.

In less than sixty pages and thirteen concise chapters, she courageously opens up about her abuse that occurred in her past. Living in a household with an alcoholic father and a verbally abusive mother, led her to the open doors of a church five blocks from her home. She walked there often without their knowledge, and before the age of twelve, she had committed her life to Jesus. She took much comfort in knowing she was never alone and surrendered her troubles to an unseen powerful force.

Her faith was put to the test when she spent twenty years with a violent husband. In the aftermath of that relationship, her life began anew as she rekindled her friendship with God. Prayer became her lifeline as she struggled to reestablish her identity and self-worth. The beatings she took not only harmed her physically but also wore her down mentally and spiritually. This is a story about a woman who, through perseverance and determination, wouldn't let life knock her out.

I liked the encouraging tone of this. Even though some of the horrors she endured were difficult to read, there is a spark of joy underneath it all. This speaks to the supernatural quality that surrounds her life. How can a person walk through so much trauma and still give inspiration to others? This is the testimony of her faith. And, she isn't keeping it a secret anymore.

Because of the brevity of the book, I cannot give away too many details, and I found myself wishing it had been a little bit longer. Her wisdom was birthed through terrible situations, but her words bring to life Romans 8:28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him..."(NIV) By writing this, she is putting to death her guilt and shame over her past while opening the way for other women to come out of toxic relationships. Most remain in bad situations because of fear. This author is sending a message that with God's help, all things are possible.

The only negative thing I can say is that I found ten errors. The good news is that they are minor and involve improper spacing after periods. While easy to fix, I must deduct one star, so I am giving this a 3 out of 4 stars.

Her story would appeal most to women who are in abusive situations looking for spiritual guidance. However, it would also serve young, single females as a cautionary tale about life choices. The author is a Christian and shares scriptures that have had a significant impact on her as she has listened and followed God's leading. For those who do not enjoy reading material that references the Bible, this one may not be for you.

None of what she expresses is pushy or condemning. It is rather amazing to read of her accomplishments, and the title is a reminder that no matter what, we are always under the watchful care of a loving God.

With such a short book, this would make a really quick read. Yet, it seems like it would be very encouraging. It definitely sounds like the author's faith was put to the test. Seeing her triumph should help us as we go through our everyday struggles. Thanks so much.

Thanks for reading my review. Sometimes, the shorter the book, the more difficult the review because I don't want to give out too many details, but this one was a good one for sure. Thanks again for stopping in. :)

It is sad to realise that there are still millions out there in abusive relationships. This book can help them see that survival is possible. Thanks.

This certainly would be an inspiring book to read for those women in an abusive relationship, but, also, to anyone who wants to change their lives for the better. I feel for anyone having to go through what she had to endear. Good review!

Thanks for the elaborate review. This is a very touching story. The fact that a young girl is able to go to church an give her life to Christ is very encouraging.
