The themes in the book are what interests me. The male dominance and patriarchy in the society is so intense that a woman is considered less of a human being than a man. Tracy is a smart African-American lady who works hard to achieve her goals. However, she does so in male dominated society called West Point college. The men try to pin her down until a young comes in to her life. The man seems different but later proves that all men are the same. He wins her trust then betrays her by raping her subjecting her to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
This is a well written story by the author as events unfold in a chronological manner. She keeps the reader guessing what will happen next but then introduces twists and turns.
