The author has shared about his traumatic experiences, love relationships, and betrayals in this book. The explicit sex and violence do not sound appealing to read.

This sounds like a very inspirational story. I am intrigued to see how this young boy grows and deals with his issues, especially when he is figuring out his sexuality. These are hard topics. I’m excited to read this book. Great review.

This seems like a very emotional read and I'm glad the author chose to talk about LGBT issues.

Biographies are one of those books that I would love to read. Since this book is about struggling with self-acceptance, it has attracted my attention and this will enable me to understand the struggles in LGBT community more.

It is interesting to consider how much an author puts on display when he writes a book. I’m certainly not the right audience for this one, but it sounds interesting for some others.

Absolutely gorgeous review! And I love the title of this book too :) Between the sample and this review, I’m convinced I would love this book. I’m overdue to read a book that pushes me out of my comfort zone! Thanks for the review.

I'm all for LGBTQ+ books. This one looks really good. I'm definitely going to add it to my TBR list. Awesome.

A book that definitely caters to adults considering its very mature content. I appreciate the reviewer cautioning the readers about the sensitivity of the plot. Happy reading to the fans of this genre.

Its interesting to get an idea of how someone becomes the person they are. We are a product of our experiences but we also have the power to overcome any trauma we encounter. Memoirs are a good way to be able to sympathize/ empathize with many diverse people. Hopefully this won't be too heartbreaking.

I definitely think this book is too explicit for my tastes, so I’ll pass on this one.

Interesting review! I did enjoy reading the short story. Simon is awesome. But when someone is lacking parental love, they eventually go out and find it. This is Simon he found self-assurance in his friend Daniel at a young age, he made him understand something very important in his life, and that is how to explore your anatomy and to accept yourself as beautiful. It seems as though Daniel's behavior was a little illicit but it was comforting to Simon that someone cares enough to see how sore he was after such a "whipping" from his teacher. I think I would like to read the entire book.

From a sampling, this was an interesting biographical memoir. While this was not my favorite genre, I found that this story is worth at least a second look. Well Done.

Great review, I know this may be a sensitive story for some but I think whenever an author allows themselves to dig deep enough to be vulnerable the story will be worth it. "The story essentially covers a myriad of themes, exploring relationships, love, betrayal and much more. Simon suffers through a traumatic childhood simply because he is “different” from others. Some kids call him “Simple Simon”, while less euphemistic names are given to him. This is in part because his parents are not married. " I am not in the LGBT community but I can relate to these themes in my very own childhood. I definitely suffered through a traumatic childhood. I have not decided if u will read this one, but I am not against it either.
