Which do you enjoy more - the Austen canon or the Bronte canon?
Do you prefer specific books from each or just one author over all? Any particular reason?

I have tried to read a few books by Jane Austen, but it doesn't seem quite my style. I think it is because I am too enamoured by Wuthering Heights and how awful the characters are to one another and how they deserve one another...

I’m also not a fan of Pride and Prejudice but I highly recommend Emma as one of Austen’s better novels.ScoutWrites wrote: ↑09 Jul 2018, 21:02 I like the Bronte novels, especially Jane Eyre. But I have never read Austen because I thought the Pride and Prejudice movie was annoying and I didn't like the characters. Maybe if I tried the book, I might feel differently. Also some people have told me Sense and Sensibility is better. I think the Bronte style is more my taste though.
