It's been decades since my last reading, so I can't pinpoint any moments of interest for a discussion, but I appreciated that the sisters were such individuals. Obviously Jo is a favorite among modern women, she was a break-through character for those of us reading before the year 2000. (that would actually be a good discussion point for your Girl Scouts -- how Jo's character was controversial a century ago, but may seem ordinary and normal in today's society).

I read it as a child with my mom in Italian and read it again only a few months for my reading challenge with a friend in English. It felt like reading two different books.

This book was way ahead of its time in the characterisation of Jo. To me, it’s a timeless classic.

As simple as this book is. It teached me a lot of what woman can do with enough passion and drive. Even though I dont agree 100% with Jo, I do feel somehow related to her. In a carreer dominated by men, it is sometime hard to be seen, of course her time is very different but as a female electronic engineer I've had my share of rejections. She is an inspiration to every girl.

Jo makes the book really tolerable. Despite preachy contents, I looked forward to reading about Jo and how she seemed to revolt against the giidy good image that girls were supposed to maintain. I was so happy to see that Jo becomes a published writer in the book. Absolutely loved that part!!

One of my favourite readings as a child. All the sisters were persons you could associate with. Of course, Jo was my favourite, cutting her hair and provoking the society of the time.

I really enjoyed this book! I found a copy at Half Price Books not too long ago so I decided to read it because I like reading classics. I love the relationships between the sisters, probably because my sister and I are so close. It's definitely a book I would reread!

I remember picking up this book when I was younger and putting it down again because I considered it too complex for me. I finished it a few years later when my friend gave me the simplified version at camp and if it wasn't for that, I doubt I would have gotten through it.

Although I didn't got the pleasure to read the book, I did watch the movie, and I enjoy every second! What a wonderful story!!

I really loved this book and I'm hoping for some inspiration as well. I read it years ago and I read the simplified version. It's on my reread TBR for this year, the unabridged version this time.

I read this book many years ago and mostly remember being very sad and crying when Beth died. I think I will read it again this year. Just finished watching a BBC series based on it.

I need to find the full version of the series this one starts but I really loved it as a child. Jo was my favourite at the time but as the years passed, I've also come to appreciate Amy. She was one of the more traditional sisters but she also stood out as much as Jo did and I appreciate that a lot.

I watched a cartoon before I read the book. My favourite characters were Jo and and Beth. I guess what I liked most about Jo was her tomboy nature as well as the sacrifice she makes when she cuts her hair.
