I just finished reading this book and I too noticed the delightful characterization of Claire who was indeed just what you would expect an active 7-year-old girl to be like. I thought it made for good contrast and some relief from the darker main story. I enjoyed this author's writing and read the story in a couple of sittings. Thanks for your review!

House of Eire: A Hillary Broome Novel is the third in a series of novels by June Gillam. I should have disliked it. Billed as a mystery, nothing much happens in the first half of the book. However, the novel is so well written, and most of the characters rich and amiable, that I had difficulty putting it down from page one.

Book of the day BOTD is CTMH and book (3) of Hilary Broome novel the protagonist herself undergoes a sea change Hilary go to Ireland together w his detective husband ED she focus on retracing his ancestry while embroiled in local problems. Things turned murky when murders happens and changed everthing .such an amazing book it was well written and reviewed I will recommend it to CTMH genre lovers this is your book
