I find it interesting that it is Marina the daughter who decides to fight against the cartel even at the cost of her dad's wishes. From your review, it seems like an action pack thriller which I am usually attracted to. However, I am cautious about reading a book with graphic rape scenes. Thanks for a good and detailed review.

'Official Review: The Cartel Crusher by Dan E. Hendrickson' gives a nice outline of the story to the readers and is rich in words, for expression.

I like the fact that the lead is about a women. She is strong and force to be reckoned with. She decided her own destiny, rather than allow her upbringing or father's position dictate the life she followed. I think this could be a very interesting read.

I love stories about women who buck tradition. Fighting the drug cartels sounds like a dangerous job too. Sounds like a fabulous mystery thriller, and I'm glad that you don't have to read the first book to jump right in. I always prefer reading a series in order though, so off to check out the first book I go!

Thank you for the review, I too, find it difficult to just start reading in the middle of a series, (and I saw it said book 2 in the title) so I'm happy to hear it works as a stand alone. I like thrillers and female protagonists, and protagonists who are passionate and over come odds to get where they are, so it sounds like a book I'd enjoy. Thanks again!

Most books around this theme manage to tell the story through the perspective of the elite. I would have felt more like reading this one if it had come from the perspective of ordinary people who have been impacted by such evils in the society - just for a change.

How did you not notice the mess of tense changes, though? What I saw on the very first page put me off.

I love to read about positive feminine ruthlessness. I can't wait to read what specific action Marnia actually took that eventually earned her the cool title of this book. She sure sounds like the epitome of courage and resilience. Too bad about the errors but I'd definitely forge ahead with reading this book. Thanks for the succinct review.

Thanks for a great review! I was also worried about reading the second installment without the first and it helps to know that it works by itself. I was also unaware that the book would get so violent so I appreciate the warning on that.

Interesting premise. Spoiled rich girl, rejecting her privilege, not your usual fare. Thanks for the honest review.

I must say that say soon as I read just the first paragraph of the review, i was sold on the book! The protagonist is a female, whose sole ambition is to get rid of the cartels and illegalities that end up oppressing the common citizens of Mexico. All this in spite of opposition from her father, the president, who sees absolutely no need for his daughter to go through all that trouble, since they are already well off. A great read, and congratulations!

The book does sound very interesting. I'm especially sold on the part of a female soldier being The Cartel Crusher. While you say it reads like a stand-alone book, I would still much rather read the first book before this one. Thank you for the helpful review.
