Review of The Ghost Detectives
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘋𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 by Charles Townsend is that book that one dedicates their whole day to reading and never puts down. This is a gripping story that features the death of Charles Benson.
Charles Benson mysteriously dies and joins the ghost world. However, his death and aftermath case won't be tied up just yet. A lot has to be done for the case to be closed.
Fay and Charles had been together for twenty years in a tempestuous relationship. At a dinner party, Alex joked about Charles having an affair, causing Fay to be angry and quarrel with Charles. Charles would then resort to seeking refuge in the spare room where he died.
Henry, a builder, helped break the door to reach Charles's dead body in the spare room. Dr. Alex Enderby's initial examination of the body remarked that Charles had died from heart failure. Inspector Anderson and Sergeant Jane Hart, who are the police that were called to take charge of this case, take up the matter from Dr. Alex Enderby's report. They will have to dig deep and conduct the necessary investigations to ascertain the cause of Charles Benson's death and who is behind it.
Charles, now a ghost, will be working closely with a colleague ghost, Lizzie, to ascertain what exactly killed Charles.
Charles had been interacting with a number of friends, including his wife, who are at the center of these investigations. They include Fay, Alex Enderby, Henry, Carl, and John. But the big question is: Is it murder? If it is murder, who is behind it? And why?

This is an intriguing story that I loved reading from the beginning to the end. I proudly rate this book 𝐚 𝟓-𝐨𝐮𝐭-𝐨𝐟-𝟓-𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 rating. The story is entertaining and flows seamlessly.
I loved the plot and character development. All the featured characters, from Fay, Carl, Alex, and Helen, perfectly stood out. The ghosts, including Lizzie, Malice, Claude, and Sylvester, were also well molded by the author.
I didn't dislike anything in this book. I noted a few typos that did not distract me from my course while reading. The book was generally professionally edited. I recommend this book to readers who like magic stories. They will find this story entertaining.
