Review of The Ghost Detectives
I must say, when I saw the title of this book, I thought it would be about people who are trying to hunt down or look for ghosts in a place, but to my surprise, it's almost the other way around. The Ghost Detectives by Charles Townsend is about Charlie, who has just died and discovers he's floating out of his body. Charlie is surprised by his death and wants to really know whether he was murdered because he clearly remembers that he had no medical illness before his death. This unanswered question makes Charlie wonder about being a ghost for a time longer than he should have stayed as a one. Charlie finds another ghost named Lizzie, who is just a nosy ghost. Lizzie and Charlie decided to find out whether Charlie was murdered and, if he was, who it could be and why. So they go on a ghost detective adventure and try to avoid Malice, an evil ghost who can cause them to disappear forever.
I like many things about this book. This book is filled with many fantastic ghost adventures. Charlie learns some tricks he could do as a ghost and uses them to his advantage. I really loved the idea of being a ghost detective, as you could get the full view of what really goes on in the world behind our backs. I particularly like Lizzie because of how her humour and jokes make the book more lively, and it balances the reality of a murder investigation. The very fact that the murder occurred in a locked room makes the book even more thrilling. I spotted just a very few errors in this book. I did not have any dislike for this book. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
If you are someone who loves to read murder mysteries and you also like books with a lot of humour and fun, this book is for you. People who love crime and detective thriller novels may also like this book.
