I like to read reviews like yours as I learn a lot!
Sounds like a good book, a little disappointing that you guessed the identity of the attacker, like you said: "I spent much of the book yelling the identity of the attacker and howling the location of the ill-gotten gains." . Which is a great way for you to say it, funny too! But if the book is humorous too, I think I would like to read it anyway.

Gosh, thank you very much!fernsmom wrote: ↑31 Oct 2018, 21:14 What a well-written review! I like your style of writing too, very entertaining, not just stating the facts (like I do, unfortunately).

However, after reading your review and some of the comments posted here, I believe I will read his books. I am intrigued to find out about the "nods to classic detective authors". Loved your review, as always!

I think your review is very insightful and I agree, sometimes it’s more about the journey than the destination.
Thanks!

I hope you do, you’ll enjoy it.Sakilunamermaid wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 15:05 I love it when crime mystery novels have a sense of humor. Its refreshing because some books can be quite dark. I adore protagonists that are real people and relatable. It keeps these types of books interesting, with their plot twists and the different investigation styles of the protagonist. Look forward to checking out this series.
