I suppose it’s a bit like a Columbo where you know how they did it, but watching the investigation is the exciting bit. Thanks for postingButterscotchCherrie wrote: ↑18 Jun 2018, 02:43 It's interesting that this was a thrilling read even though the clues were obvious. I'm learning a lot about different aspects of the mystery genre round here!

Oh, it’s satisfying all the way through, I just meant that the ride is as enjoyable as the destination.Riszell wrote: ↑18 Jun 2018, 08:35 That sounds very ironic, someone working in a modern world but refuses to use technology. I'm not into this genre but I do love to read books with satisfying ending like this one as you mentioned. But I'd still prefer something enjoyable to read from the start, to the middle and up to the last page of a book.

I’m so glad to know that it’s not just me who shouts at books! Thanks for posting.kandscreeley wrote: ↑18 Jun 2018, 08:52 I agree. There are some books where it's not necessarily as important that you know the identity of the criminal. There are so many other things going on, that it's okay. I've read my fair share of books that I sit and yell at the characters! Sounds like this was enjoyable. Thanks.

Seriously, I don't know what I enjoy more, the books you recommend or the reading the recommendation itself! Thanks for the laugh.Helen_Combe wrote: ↑15 Jun 2018, 07:51 Blank’s books are more of a fairground ride where the best bit is in the middle where you loop the loop and do a face-plant into your ice cream. When you step off at the end, you immediately want to buy another ticket so you can get back on again.
“But upon the stage of life, while conscience claps, let the world hiss! On the contrary if conscience disapproves, the loudest applauses of the world are of little value."
