Wow! Thanks for the warning about the distasteful contents of this book! I won’t be reading this one, but thanks for the information.

I usually enjoy c/t/m/h genre but I do believe if the book if is a a work of fiction, there are some unnecessary lines that need not to be crossed and this author definitely crossed it. Thank you so much for the courage for to finishing it.I will not be reading this book. Thanks for the review

I think its a good combination of elements, but it is too vulgar and it is inappropriate for underage to read it.

Thanks for everyone's comments. I hate giving ratings this low, but in this case I do believe it's fair. Most of the explicit content was just completely unnecessary. There is no need to go into a step by step in how to take drugs.

Wow - 550 pages worth of violence, sexually explicit scenes, name calling and torture. It sounds like the subject matter was very disturbing to get through. I agree with you that it would have been better to not use the same offensive word constantly. You did a great job of staying objective and highlighting a few positives, especially considering you didn't like the book.

Sounds like a disappointing book. I do like the cover, thus proving the old proverb correct! I fully understand your frustration with the unrealistic things the gangsters did, like drinking juice from champagne glasses. While you don't want cardboard cut-out stereotypes, there has to be some truth or realism in the actions of characters, and the things you described seem unlikely for gangsters to be doing. Thanks for your review!

The book cover looks like Michael Jackson in silhouette. Sometimes the author needs to take a little longer to grow the story, increase information that will keep reader's interest, and focus more on witty communication instead of vulgar language.
To survive, you must tell stories.

I now tend to shy away from stories on gangsters because most of the books I've read before focusing on the gangster life are full of unnecessary extreme violence and sex. But it seems this book is much worse than those. The 'step by step instructions on how to shoot heroin' and the way women are characterized on this book do not appeal to me even in the slightest. Good job on completing this book. I would have dropped it midway or perhaps way earlier if it were me.

Thanks for this review :)

Sounds like a tough and highly inappropriate read that needs lots of editing. Thanks for the review!

Thanks bookowlie. I do believe the author COULD write a good book. I mean the writing style wasn't bad. It's just the content and the way he handled it that I believe could have been MUCH better.

Wow. I am already at a point where I pretty much avoid books that include syndicated crime, mobs, gangs, and the like. There always seems to be an extensive amount of vulgarity, objectification of women, and violence. Is the author trying to promote the use of heroine? I really can't see how that explanation is justified at all. I can't imagine how long it would take me to read 550 pages full of all of the content you listed. Congrats to you. Don't feel bad for giving a one-star rating. That's what we are here for; to save readers from books not worthy of more than a single star.

Thanks kfwilson6. It just almost seemed like the author was glorifying criminals here. Definitely not something I would normally read.

Step by step instructions on how to shoot heroin? That is way excessive. Definitely not the book for me. Thanks for the review, now I know to avoid it!

AbbyGNelson- I completely agree... I am not sure why that was appropriate in any book. It's just unnecessary. Thanks for commenting!
