This is a fast-paced action thriller. The lady protagonist is surely someone you would root for. When I come to read the whole novel, then maybe, I would appreciate it the more. Thanks for your interesting review.

You had me at a smart woman protagonist, but also I love the idea of a journalist investigating a murder in her own family. I am excited to read this. Thanks!

Thanks for your review! The first chapter, which I've sampled, is gripping and quite detailed, setting up Lucille as the main character. I enjoyed the author's writing style, however the profanity turned me off, so I won't be finishing this novel.

This sounds like a well-written nail-biter, but graphic content usually runs me off. The plot-twists have me intrigued, though, so I'm torn. Great review!

I do not read in this genre very much but this one sounds interesting! I might have to look into adding it to my TBR list. Thanks for the review!

After reading the review, I feel so excited to read the book. I like protagonist female who are strong and can adopt to a situation of difficulty. And having to solve a mystery which can reveal the truth and justice of the incident is just so amazing and inspiring.. I'm looking forward to know more about the details and story of this book: Deadly Focus by Sue Hinkin :D :D :techie-studyingbrown:

I too was drawn to this because of the female protagonist. We need more of them in fiction, in my opinion. This really does sound like a solid read and clocking in at 400 plus pages, it must be a fantastically engaging story. In my experience, thrillers are usually of a shorter length. It's good that the few errors are not distracting. Thanks for your insight!

I don't normally read the murder/mystery genre. I tend to figure out "who-done-it" too early in the story to be able to enjoy it to the end. Your comments about the unexpected plot-twists and action-filled ending, combined with reading the sample that totally surprised me by immediately pulling me into the story, has led me to realizing that I may just enjoy this book after all. Thank you for your compelling review.

I love the strong, smart female protagonist aspect of the book. The author is also very creative especially in painting places and scenes with words. The use of Spanish words is commendable. This makes the book very interesting.

The story sounds very compelling, and I'm very interested in learning how it just so happens that she's called to work on a case in which her uncle is the victim. Thank you for the helpful review!
