One for the road by Will Roberts
The fact that the author automatically linked the Korean War with the Goucestershire Regiment of the British Army and the Battle of Alexandria in Egypt in 1801 where the 28th Gloucestershire Regiment fought on March 21, 1801, shows the traits of a good writer whose creative mind automatically searches into the past to link the present.
Which reminds me that on March 21, 1983 Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. was killed as he alighted from a Korean Airlines plane in Manila, the incident led to the People Power Revolution that spread worldwide and brought down most of the socialist governments.
This is a mark of a innately talented writer, the possession of a large cache of information from which quality can be gleaned from quantity.
As for the book the first chapter which I read just now suddenly went back to London, England where the clear description of the City and it's inhabitants provided a sumptuous smorgasbord of background information for a thrilling story, but wait I cannot provide a complete review, I merely browsed through the first chapter.
