The Coal'd War sounds complex and intriguing. I find spy novels super interesting and I’m looking forward to the plot twist.

Spy stories are not really on my reading list currently, but I may give this a go based on the review. I’m hesitant because of the “slow start.” I like to be hooked before the end of the first chapter.

This spy novel involving many characters of many nationalities and distinctive personalities Sounds like a real good read. However, I'm not a fan of this genre and therefore I will pass on this one. Thanks for this review.

This story looks like it could be interesting. As mentioned in the review, I noticed some formatting and punctuation problems in reading the sample. If they are consistent throughout the book, I think I'll pass on this one.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

The Coal'd War by James Alan Thompson, is a spy novel with interesting scenes of fear, desperation and salvation, and is about Russia plotting to convert England to a communist state. It's action packed and every reader will find it lovely, and nice review as well.

Thanks for the review. I am not huge fan of war novels. But the book sounds good if the spelling errors and alignment errors can be ignored

The tittle of the book "coal'd" war instead of the usual "cold war", makes a reader think of the cold war and the mines which is the story line of the book. Operations with the aim of Military dominance are always interesting and fun plots to read. It has interesting scenes of fear, desperation and salvation. It is about Russia plotting to convert England to a communist state. It's action packed and every reader will find it lovely, and nice review as well.Inspiring and motivating. Grab your copy now before stocks last. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Great Review!

This is a very informative review and helps me to decide that I don't want to read it as it doesn't grasp my attention to warrant reading it. If I did, it would take me a long time to finish the whole thing. However for those who like political books and storylines and spy characters with a hint of conspiracy between the lines, this would be great for you.

Great review! I am interested in spy novels! Spies at the time of cold war. I wonder how the Soviet and UK played the game of war with spies as their chess pieces.

This is a period of history of which I know little. From reading this review, it sounds like I will be better educated by the end!! The idea of exploring the wider issues of the time thru the lens of industry is interesting. I look forward to exploring.

This book sounds very cool and I like spy novels. The 1980s were the decade that had the most changes in the Cold War where it became very "hot", so to speak. I can imagine the period clothing and the popular music. I like that the story takes place across Europe and involves the different spy agencies. The ending sounds like something that is well crafted and heart stopping.

The formatting in this version leaves a lot to be desired. There are half blank pages, paragraph indents in the middle of sentences, some parts were right justified, etc.
^I've noticed this too when I was reading the sample. While the story seems interesting (it's because of the history), I found the formatting annoying. Hopefully the author fixes that.
Just reading... :techie-studyingbrown: :techie-studyinggray:

I also felt the book started slowly and just reading the sample would not encourage me to purchase this book. The review of the book is helpful because it lets me know that this book gets more exciting as you read.
