I like that the close knit team and friendly banter. Seems like an enjoyable read. Thanks for the great review!

I'm glad that you enjoyed reading the book, despite the minor grammatical errors.

Thank you for your in-depth review of Hard Place by Douglas Stewart where the characters are first introduced. What intrigued me is the character development in the story, which is often missing in thrillers, and the bantering between the characters. Also compelling is the premise of the Albanian drug connection in Britain.

Thanks for the review! I like that there is that sense of comraderie between the characters in the book - stepping away from that “loner” stereotype in a lot of mysteries.

This is one of my go-to genres that I am always in the mood for. The banter between the characters is a huge plus for me! It makes the book much more readable and enjoyable, as far as I'm concerned. I'm looking forward to diving into this one.

Thanks kislany for such well-written review. I have the clearest overview of the story for anyone not having read the book yet. It is really a heroic deed for Ratso to pursue and bring to justice these drug lords and other purveyors of contraband substances. The various locale of action used in the episodes would lend to exciting and fresh scenarios every time. You got me. I will chance on reading this book.

I am a fan of crime thrillers especially this as a mystery and a well detailed investigational storylines dealing with the world of drugs. The review is encouraging and inviting.

Here comes another story about drugs again. Uh oh. Not my cup of tea. My heart refused to connect on books that mention illegal drugs. Thanks for the detailed review.

If it is well done, a crime/mystery thriller can be excellent when a team chases their leads all over the world. It sounds like Stewart is a stickler for details and that the locations visited will be gems in this one. Between that and the interpersonal relationships, I think we have a winner here.

I agree with Ferdinand in saying that crime-mysteries are not my favorite. The sample of Hard Place, however, has me intrigued. I like the blunt speak and rough characterizations. Who knows, maybe this is the book to get me hooked!

Thank you for your review of Hard Place. The description on Amazon said the books stand alone. I appreciate your guidance to read the books in order since more character development happens in the first book. I like this genre and will give it a try.

What a great review for Douglas Stewart’s Hard Place! Thanks for the wonderful intro. I want to read the series!! I have been a non-fiction reader throughout my adult life, and this will be my first serious non- fiction endeavor!

My imagination is wild, and I am eager to surrender to the details and descriptions you promised! I am also intrigued by what sounds like an action packed adventure, fun, suspenseful, and mentally traveling to places I have never been in the world!

Without spoiling, you have implied there is a grand finale in Hard Place, and yet, there is enough content for a second book. Oh! I can’t wait!
