All those things have their place, but I really enjoyed the clean nature of this one. Nice to recommend to teens and those who are squeamish! Thanks for the comment!Kat Berg wrote:It really is so very hard to find any thriller that doesn't, at the very least, have a lot of swearing and at least one gratuitous sex scene, that this one is well written and clean is a bonus, because then I am not hesitant to recommend it to others who may be mortified (like my mother). Great review!

I too enjoy a thriller that doesn't make you hate the world. I wrote Fortunate Monsters because I think it's pretty likely to be less science fiction than science fact one of these days.
I and my husband suffered from infertility for several years and through a successful IVF had twins. I saw them first as 8-celled zygotes. Now organizations all over the world are using CRISPR to edit DNA. I find myself wondering if we are entering an era where families and fertility doctors will begin trying to engineer children . . .
It's impossible to believe that, sooner or later, someone won't be working hard to create "Fortunate Monsters".
At any rate, I very much look forward to hearing people's thoughts on the work
