Great review! I was hoping this would be a humor book from the title, but you did say the protagonist is humorous, so it's a maybe for me. I don't know why I've never gotten into reading mysteries, maybe I should give them another try.

zoo is a perfect backdrop for murder and mayhem.
Learned plenty about endangered species along the way and I really enjoyed this book, plenty of action.
